Shame Secrets and the Light of Christ.  Bringing our shame secrets into the light of Jesus Christ, confessing them, and receiving the grace of reconciliation frees us for grace.  While shame secrets are hidden, the world, the flesh, and the devil have a hay day.  Those rights are removed by the Light of Jesus Christ.  So the first step is to overcome the fear of bringing these to the Light.  God has the power to restore us if we do our part, confessing, with a willingness to make amends.  In the Light of Christ, sins are forgiven, forgotten, forever.

Opening Prayer

Eternal Father, together with your Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit… You are glorious and magnificent, transcending all of creation, time, and space. Through the intercession of Mary, the Mother of Jesus, and St Joseph, guardian of the Holy Family, we ask you to pour out your blessings to the hour of greatest need as we pray for the healing of memories.

The Lord’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, in the Name of your Son Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit, pour your grace over my person, history, and memories. Help me to remember any shame secret whether it be sin/s I committed or abuse/s I suffered at the hand of others. Help me to bring them into your light, confessing them, so that I may be reconciled to you.

Merciful Father, speak to my inner child and Help me recognize that I am your beloved child, in whom you are well pleased… so by your infinite love, I may find the courage to repent and forgive, and be freed from shame, that I may be be radiant with the joy, filled with your Light, Life, and love.
