Daily Beloved Spiritual Exercise

The “Daily Beloved Spiritual Exercise” of the Beloved Spiritual Exercises includes praise, mercy, healing, protection, deliverance, cleansing, and a daily commitment to Jesus, our Lord.

It is based on the structure of the “Lord’s Prayer” and is recommended daily.  It provides broad coverage, offering: a praise prayer, mercy prayer, healing prayer, protection prayer, deliverance prayer, cleansing prayer, and an altar call to re-commit to the Lord, renewing our Baptismal Promises.   All of the other prayers in the Beloved Spiritual Exercises build on the foundation of this daily prayer.

The  “Daily Beloved Spiritual Exercise”  is composed of twelve parts all of which build together to orchestrate the Beloved Disciple’s song of love.  We praise the Trinity for the I AM declarations.  We come to know Jesus in the Woman at the Well prayer, moreover, we discover our own identity in the Body of Christ.  The seven Signs open us to the saving grace of God.  To the Churches prayer,  is about deepening our understanding of God, repenting for our sins to become victors over sin, and claiming God’s gifts as rewards. The Character Prayer inspires us to acquire the character of the Beloved Disciple.  Consecration to the Trinity through Mary positions us close to Mary, who, next to the Trinity, is the doctor of grace.  The repentance prayer takes out the capital sins.  While Jesus loves us all unconditionally, by definition, he cannot love sin. The protection prayer prepares us for deliverance ministry as we are not just fighting the world and the flesh, rather we also need to overcome the devil.  The deliverance prayer takes out the seven demonic strongholds of the capital sins and replaces them with virtues.  If we get rid of evil without replacing it with virtue, we will fall back into the same condition or worse.  The cleansing prayer takes care of deliverance cleanup. Finally, the Yoke prayer is a reaffirmation of our baptismal vows.  It is about recommitting our lives to Christ, every day, to strengthen our resolve,  so I, myself, can become a “Beloved Disciple”.

Identity in Christ and the Woman at the Well

The woman at the well progresses through seven steps to discover who Jesus is, and what’s more, her own identity.

Jesus helps transcend racial identity
“How is it that you, a Jew, ask a drink of me, a woman of Samaria?” John 4:9
✠ Jesus, help me to find my identity and unity in you as my Lord and Savior, so I can rise above petty politics and prejudice, that I might realize that all people, men and women, people of every race and nation are called to be members of the One Body of Christ.

Jesus helps transcend materialism
“If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.’”  John 4:10
✠ Jesus, help me to rise above the material world so I may hunger and thirst for the gift of the Holy Spirit, the Living Water, to refresh me and sustain me in your love.

Jesus Reveals himself as “All Knowing” and “All Merciful”
“‘Sir, I see that you are a prophet’.”  John 4:19
✠ Jesus, help me to recognize that you know everything about my past and my people and still you love me.  Help me to turn to you to satisfy the deepest longings of my heart.

Jesus invites us to worship in Spirit and Truth
“The hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth.” John 4:18
✠ Jesus, help me to worship you in Spirit and Truth, that I may glorify you everywhere and at all times.

Jesus reveals that he is the Messiah
“I know that Messiah is coming (who is called Christ). When he comes, he will proclaim all things to us. Jesus said to her, ‘I am he, the one who is speaking to you’.” John 4:25-26
✠ Jesus, help me to recognize you as the Messiah, the fulfillment of the promises of the Covenants of David, Moses and Abraham.

Jesus invites us to share the Good News
“Then the woman left her water jar and went back to the city. She said to the people, ‘Come and see a man who told me everything I have ever done!?’” John 4:18-19
✠ Jesus, help me to share the Good News of your gift of salvation with everyone I meet.

Jesus reveals himself as Savior of the World
“It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is truly the Savior of the world.” John 4:42
✠ Jesus, I know that you are Son of God and Savior of the World which gives me my new identity as your beloved disciple.
